The planters on the High Street are part of a scheme permitted by Gloucestershire County Council under a Coronavirus Response Temporary Road Restriction set to stay in place until 21st June 2022. The planters aim to keep the High Street attractive, green and welcoming. The scheme also provides a temporary twenty minute parking bay outside 20, High Street (Wynn’s Café). The space occupied by the planters has never been a designated parking bay. Stonehouse Town Council paid for the planters which were made by Share and Repair Stonehouse. Stonehouse In Bloom have organised the setting up and planting. The Temporary Road Restriction Order was paid for by European Regional Development Fund and Government Re-opening High Streets Safely Funding distributed by Stroud District Council.
