Stonehouse Town Council organises this annual Goodwill Fest that marks the start of the town’s Christmas celebrations.
There are lots of stalls selling seasonal goods and potential Christmas presents, children activities and entertainment, live reindeer, Father Christmas in his grotto and all the fun of the fair to be experienced. Several local businesses join in the fun of the day by decorating their shop windows and a wide range of seasonal food and drink is also on offer. The highlight of the event for many is the Lantern Procession, with lanterns made by children and young people and they are lead the length of the High Street by Father Christmas. Following the lantern procession Father Christmas and the Town Mayor lead a traditional countdown to switch on the Christmas lights.
The Town Council is extremely grateful to all the local businesses and people who support the Goodwill Fest both financially and in kind. If you wish to be a sponsor then please get in touch. We look forward to welcoming you all to this year’s Goodwill Fest on 5th December. Come and join in this traditional family friendly event, meet old friends and hopefully make new ones as well.
Sadly we will be unable to hold the tradition Goodwill Fest this year (202) due to uncertainty over social distancing measures. We want to keep our residents and traders safe so we have made the difficult decision to cancel our normal event planned for 5th December.
However, we are working on coming up with a suitable alternative that everyone can join in with, safely.
We will confirm what we are planning soon so please watch this space!
