Our website contains information about the town itself, its events, businesses, community groups, Town Council and much more. You’ll find lots of information about what to see and do in Stonehouse, from food & drink to shopping (in our traditional High Street with many independent shops and businesses), recreational facilities and employment.
Our Aim
Stonehouse Town Council’s aim is to ensure that Stonehouse continues to be a great place to live, work and visit. Local Councillors are here to represent your interests and to meet local needs. Your Council
The Town Council is made up of 14 councillors, who are all volunteers. They are representatives of the town’s residents and businesses and sit on committees and working groups that cover almost every aspect of town life.

Stonehouse has a population of over 8500 with a high number of employees from the locality working in the four business parks. There is an infant and junior school, a private primary school, a secondary school and private college.

Stonehouse is less than 3 miles away from Junctions 12 and 13 of the M5 with good links to Gloucester and Stroud. There is a railway station that provides a regular service to and from London and Stonehouse is part of the National Cycle Network.

Neighbourhood Development Plan
The Neighbourhood Plan aims to ensure that the development of the town will contribute to what residents most value about Stonehouse; a strong, friendly community, a distinctive thriving town in a beautiful rural setting with excellent transport links and employment opportunities. All planning applications will have to pay regard to and conform with this Plan through to 2031.
